Super-detailed Class 40 Lima 40135 BR Blue OO diesel

Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands, United Kingdom ends 2020-02-18 07:34:20

Class 40 - Lima, super-detailed and flush-glazed. BR Blue with full yellow ends and split-headcode dominos as running in late seventies and early eighties.  This was bought for a well-intentioned project that has now moved on, as model railway things so often do!

This model has been painstakingly detailed by its former owner, including after-market detail parts on the bogies and buffer-beams - please refer closely to pictures.  I believe that I acquired 40135 from the team that had the exquisite exhibition layout, Somerford, in the nineties.  I model 1968 so this loco doesn't fit my era and I don't want to spoil its realistic appearance by backdating it; I think this should be enjoyed and operated as seen here.  I have not run the loco since I have owned it, but as I say it came from a fleet used for exhibitions so should be a decent runner with a basic service, wheel cleaning and lube if anything.

Price reflects detailing and customisation, but is priced to sell, I need to free-up space in the cupboard!

Will be well packed in a Lima box.

The wagons in the photo are not part of the auction.

Thanks for looking.
